Amelia Badenoch (b. 1992, UK) is a British multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores memory, family, familiar surroundings and the subconscious. Drawing on dreams, nightmares, personal photographs and sketches, her work brings together past and present experiences to examine identity, the human figure and the ways memory shapes our understanding of ourselves.
Badenoch studied at the Florence Academy of Art before completing the Turps Art School Studio Programme in 2022. Her work has been exhibited in London, including the Turps Banana Leavers Show and Medium Rare at Bermondsey Project Space.
In their own words
“Although my work develops from moments when I am in pure darkness, nature is something I am continually drawn to. The afternoon light on a tree, rose petals that have died on the ground and the ever changing colour of the sky.”
