London|(b) 1995|City and Guilds of London Art School

Ellie Walker is a British artist whose practice explores the dynamic interplay between control and release through an ongoing engagement with materiality. She completed an MA in Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2025, following the Turps Banana Correspondence Course in 2024 and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton in 2017.

Walker’s paintings evolve through processes of layering, disruption, destruction and repair, allowing uncertainty and chance to become active parts of the work. Recent exhibitions include As We Read at RHODES Contemporary, Marginalia at The Koppel Project and A Line Has Time in It at Carta Magna. Her work has also been shown at the Royal Over-Seas League, Organhaus Gallery in Chongqing and Lido Open 2025.

In their own words

“My practice is rooted in emotional depth and guided by curiosity, unfolding through drawing and material experimentation. I embrace being in the discomfort of uncertainty, allowing each work to evolve through cycles of layering, destruction and re-emergence.”
